Zoe Marie Hart is an up-and-coming Soubrette performing with local opera companies in NYC. Most recently, she appeared as Denise in OperaRox's production of Sweets by Kate (Griffen Candey), performed at Stonewall Inn. The second opera to highlight a lesbian couple, Sweets by Kate was featured by NowThis on FaceBook and in a video viewed over 340,000 times. Other roles include, Young Vixen in Cunning Little Vixen, Oberto in Alcina, Spirit 1 in Cendrillon, Philadel in King Arthur by Purcell, Little Red in Shattering the Mirror (Zac Lavender), and Zwei Knabe in Die Zauberflöte. Upcoming performances include the role of Cis in Albert Herring with Utopia Opera.
Past concert appearances include OperaRox's Donor Salon, and Utopia Opera's 2016 Gala. She was part of Cantanti Project's Ophelia Project, pairing art songs with excerpts from Shakespeare's Hamlet. Zoe's Hill Auditorium debut in Ann Arbor was as a soloist for Bach's "Herz und Mund un Tat und Leben" with the Orpheus Choir, and performed Tehillim by Steve Reich in Merkin Hall, NYC, and University of Michigan.
In addition to her education at University of Michigan with Carmen Pelton, Zoe attended OperaWorks in 2014, received a Lieder scholarship in order to attend AIMS in Austria the summer of 2013, and attended SongFest as a young artist in 2012, working with Libby Larsen and John Musto.
She is now pursuing her masters at Binghamton University where she is performed the role of Dewfairy in Hansel and Gretel, and studied Serpetta from Mozart's La finta giardiniera which was unfortunately cancelled during the spring of 2020. Appearing on several Opera on Tap virtual recitals, and performing in the Virtual Chamber zFestival , Zoe continues to perform throughout the quarantine, exploring the possibilties of virtual classical performance.
